Definition of Completion - Collect all chalices (Sir Dan’s statue must turn solid), complete all levels, defeat Zarok. Wait for the ‘LOADING’ screen after the credits.
Definition of Death - Using a life bottle does not count as a death in this run. In total I used fifty five life bottles. To lose all the life bottles and return to the main menu would have counted as a death.

Notes - I love this game so friggin’ much. It was one of those games that I used to play as a kid with my brothers, only unlike 40 Winks I actually remember playing it. Playing this brought back memories of how I felt when I was little whilst playing the game. Every little part of the game was like a trip down memory lane. I used to be so bad at fighting the Ant Queen boss that I had to avoid the acid that trips from her after I defeated her, for fear of dying. Also I remember not having a clue how to free the Shadow Demons, and to be fair I still don’t (I just wrote down the order for stepping on the switches.) So much better than MediEvil 2, although I still really like MediEvil 2. I love the dark humour, I love the designs, I love the different weapons, I love all the different gameplay elements such as the chalice and the life system. I love being able to pick my own route across the levels, even though there’s only one route that works well. On the bad side of things the camera can get stuck at some annoying angles, and you can’t always see what you’re running into. Also, the way Sir Dan takes steps can lead to a lot of falls and missed landings, and the triangle (Daring Dash) button can sometimes be a little picky when you need to make a jump at speed. This was one of the first games that I put serious work into playing well for the log. It didn’t take long to learn the way, really. I played through the game normally once, and then I completed it three more times, and improved how long it took me. The run went really well, and I played it to the best of my ability. The replay value is sky-high for me because it’s a relatively short game and it plays so well that it’s simply fun to challenge my time records.
State when Playing - Needed a piss so bad.
